The four-story, 251,000 square foot
governmental office building designed by STH allows Palm Beach County to
consolidate the departments of Planning Zoning and Building,
Metropolitan Planning Engineering, and Environmental Resource Management
into one building, creating a one-stop service center. Special
consideration was given in the planning and design to accommodate both
public use as well as restricted access areas. The program, also
developed by STH, was based on projected staffing figures for 2011,
allowing for the design to incorporate expansion into the floor plans.
STH coordinated with staff and developed a comprehensive program study
for current and future staff needs. The project also includes a
five-story parking garage that accommodates approximately 700 cars. |
